IN-STATE TUITION RULE NEEDS A MAKEOVER

Once again, students at Utah State University and other state schools are lobbying the Legislature to reverse House Bill 331, which makes it harder for non-resident college students to become Utah residents and pay lower tuition. This legislation was the product of short-sighted, unbalanced government. Instead of generating an additional $5 million, it cost around $2 million. It drove students from our state and is keeping out-of-state students from coming in. (Standard Examiner, 01/21/03)

CELEBRATING CERAMICS AT USU’S ART MUSEUM

As part of the 20th Anniversary Celebration at Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art at Utah State University, pieces from the museum’s extensive ceramics collection will be featured. The ceramic exhibition features 200 of the 1,250 works in the museum’s permanent collection. The exhibit includes a little something for everyone - from a fantastic teapot that looks like a cactus to wheel-thrown vases three feet tall, said Victoria Rowe, director of the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum. GAY FILM FEST GOES BY QUIETLY

The adage “No news is good news” was perhaps never more true than for the Gay Pride Alliance at Utah State University. After weathering sporadic controversy since the inception of PrideFest, members of the club celebrated the fourth annual Gay and Lesbian Film Festival at USU recently without incident.
