Melissa Baggaley
Earns NSCAA All-America Region Honors
Baggaley is the
first Utah State soccer player to earn all-region honors from
the NSCAA.
Utah
State soccer player Melissa
Baggaley was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association
of America all-west region third team. Baggaley is the first
Utah State soccer player to earn all-region honors from the
NSCAA.
"I'm thrilled for Melissa," said head coach Heather
Cairns. "This is a testament of both the success of
the team this past season and how valuable Melissa was in our
being successful."
Baggaley, a junior defender from Salt Lake City, Utah, anchored
a stingy Utah State defense that allowed only 16 goals in 19
games. She also led USU in recording a school record 10 shutouts
in 2003.
This season, Baggaley was also named first-team all-Big West
as the Aggies enjoyed their most successful season in the programs
eight seasons. She also earned honorable mention all-Big West
as a freshman in 2001.
