PROGRAMMING CHANGES AT UTAH PUBLIC RADIO

LOGAN -- Utah Public Radio’s “UPR Presents” program is moving from Sunday to Tuesday as part of a series of changes going into effect this week on Utah State University’s statewide radio service.

“UPR Presents” is the station’s vehicle to air national, short-run series that otherwise might not have a regular time slot. It is moving from Sunday at 9 p.m. to Tuesday at 8 p.m. Holiday programs are scheduled for that time the remainder of December. Then, Jan. 7 “The Bioneers” will be featured weekly through late February. “The Bioneers” focuses on those motivated by a respect for nature as they work to improve the environment.

Another programming change involves one of Utah Public Radio’s popular summertime replacement programs, “City Arts and Lectures.” It joins the Utah Public Radio lineup permanently Thursdays at 8 p.m.

“City Arts and Lectures” is in its 20th year providing arts and cultural programming with contemporary artists, writers, performing artists and social critics. It has been heard intermittently on Utah Public Radio for several years.
The program host is actor Linda Hunt. She will interview author Salman Rushdie, Dec. 26. Guests in January and February include Studs Terkel, Calvin Trillin and Dave Barry.

Also, an additional hour is being added to the station’s Sunday night classical music lineup with that programming now beginning at 9 p.m.

For more programming information visit the Utah Public web site at upr.org.
