UTAH STATE NEWS RELEASE FOR 8-18-04

CELEBRATE SUMMER AT UTAH BOTANICAL CENTER GARDEN FAIR

KAYSVILLE – The Utah Botanical Center (UBC) celebrates the bounty and beauty of late summer with a Garden Fair Saturday, Aug. 28. The event runs from 8 a.m. to noon at the UBC Pavilion, near the center's ponds, 900 S. 50 West, Kaysville.

Organic produce from Borski Farms will be for sale, as will raspberries from Weeks Berries of Paradise and peaches from the UBC orchard. Other items for sale include fresh cut flowers, herbs, and dried floral wreaths and arrangements. The Davis County Master Gardeners host their annual iris sale during the fair and will be available to diagnose plant problems and offer gardening advice.

Experts will also be on hand with information about water conservation and water efficient landscaping. Several local nurseries will have booths where guests can ask questions and purchase water wise plants.

Tours of the Utah House (an energy and resource efficient demonstration house), its landscaping and the UBC ponds area will be given throughout the morning. For more information, please call (801) 593-8969.
