Utah
State President Hall’s JFK Speech to be Rebroadcast
Utah State University President Kermit L. Hall, one of five
Americans appointed by the White House to the John F. Kennedy
Assassination Records Review Board, spoke during the 40th anniversary
of the assassination at The National Archives and The National
Press Club on Nov. 14.
The title of Hall’s speech, “Open Secrets—The
Kennedy Assassination 40 Years Later,” offered his insight
into the roles the CIA and FBI played in the investigation.
Hall’s speech will be rebroadcast on Friday, Nov. 21 at
9 a.m. and 7 p.m. on KUSU (89.5 FM in Cache Valley). For more

Health and Fitness Partners with Utah State University
Utah State University students living on campus will be exercising
more thanks to a partnership with ICON Health and Fitness.
Utah State has new workout facilities and equipment in the
lobbies of both the Mountain and Valley View towers on campus
filled with six treadmills, two incline trainers, four recumbent
bikes, two cross trainers and exercise balls.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the new exercise equipment
and Utah State’s partnership with ICON Health and Fitness
is Friday, Nov. 21, at 3:30 p.m. in Mountain View Tower on the
Utah State campus.
Lynn Brenchley, vice president of ICON Health and Fitness,
said ICON is committed to contributing to Utah State, where
many of the company’s employees are currently going to

State Department of English Presents Pulitzer Prize-Winning
Poet Gary Snyder and Ken Brewer
On Thursday, Dec. 4, Gary Snyder, a Pulitzer Prize-winning
poet who has come to occupy international standing as a representative
for the rights and lives of the unvoiced in society, will participate
in a reading at 7 p.m. in the Eccles Conference Center in conjunction
with the Box Creative Writing Award. Snyder's writing and thought
have done much to introduce concepts such as stewardship, reinhabitation,
bioregion and watershed in both poetic discourse and public
policy, illuminating the intertwining strands of literary form,
social responsibility, ethical conduct and cultural inclusiveness.
Utah Poet Laureate Ken Brewer will be featured in a panel discussion
prior to Snyder's presentation at 3 p.m. in the Tippetts Gallery.
