A River Runs Through Us is a hands-on educational volunteer monitoring
program geared toward teachers and their students. With the aid of
detailed manuals, teachers educate their students about the function and
structure of a watershed, as well as teach them the specifics
of sampling freshwater systems.

With the supervision of the the teacher, students collect data in the field and then
enter it into a database locted on this web page. Teachers can access their results
and as well as others data throughout their watershed using this database.

Teachers are encouraged to bring their students together as a
watershed in the spring to share what they have learned. Biology,
history, poetry, math, chemistry, and any other discipline can be taught

recently expanded! The Bear River Watershed, Weber River Watershed,
and Jordan River Watershed are all actively participating in this
